Jack Schofield's piece on the future of un-free content in yesterday's Guardian certainly gave me food for thought. Especially because I remember those heady "content is king days" as though they were yesterday.
He covers all the issues related to monetizing content: falling online ad revenues, tiered subscription models and the like. But there's one key thing missing.
I don't think a debate about the end of free can happen without mention of micropayments: I may not want to sign up for £100, £50 or even £20, but if there was a way to easily pay 30p for an article that I really wanted, I would.
