Just heard John Humphreys on the Radio Four Today programme, having a quite, quite insane conversation with a woman from the Wife Carrying World Championships in Finland.
I know they like to have a "kooky" item, but it must be a slow news day. And someone needs to have a word with John about weight conversion: it was utterly embarassing hearing him go on about 49 kilos (minimum wife-weight to carry) being heavy (it's less than eight stone). He's obviously not a girl/ever dieted; I thought everyone knew a pound was around 2.2 kilos. Or maybe he never buys flour/sugar/general household goods.
