Just heard Phil Halsall, Executive Director of Resources at Liverpool City Council interviewed on You and Yours about his new invention: Email Free Wednesday (for internal email only, you'll be relieved to hear). It's to make people take responsibility and talk to their colleagues.
Dr Paul Taylor counter-commented; "it's rebellion - councillors are frustrated traffic wardens. Office workers of world unite, you've got nothing to lose but your keyboards. It allows us to avoid f2f contact - we can pass the buck. People even finish with their partners over email.How will a one day gesture make a profound change? Its like the politburo."
