Met a bunch of bloggers yesterday; when I got to Soho Square it was one-thirtyish, and I was desparately seeking a diffuse group of people whose only common link was a regularly updated blog (time stamps and archives appears to be the definition most people go for). Hard to tell; luckily I had Darren's mobile number.
It was low-key. But that's cool. Met Minor9th, Meg, Tom , Cal - though I've met them both before - and other people - other Tom, Adam, Plep, Graybo, Mo ,Nick. And some people I'm sure I've forgotten. Not a lot of girlies, I have to tell you. And I'll come back and do the rest of the links later.
It's strange, I have to say. I already have slightly altered relationships with my real-life friends who read my blog. Instead of calling and saying "hey, how are you?" They call and have a second stage conversation; "Pi, I didn't like that movie. Saw you did." Or, "sorry you didn't get the job. Wanna go out and commiserate." It's like the blog has changed how I communicate.
And meeting the face behind the blog yesterday was similar. I know Tom's got a new contract at upmyarse.com. Meg's leg is hurting. Simon just moved house. Do I know these people? Or know of them? Do they know me?
Answers on a poscard, please.
