Crawling through the Independent site looking for the online version of teaser on the Trouble with Love (upcoming BBC2 series) in today's review section, I found this. A press release from the Open Univiersity about the programme. I don't have the paper, so I can't compare them, but at first glance, I'm pretty sure the story I read was an almost verbatim version of the press release, and it was certainly written by Eulina Clairmont.
How strange is that? Here am I busting a gut trying to sell/get commissions for freshly-perspectived, independently-voiced articles on everything ranging from women's underwear to tehcnology, and they're just recycling press releases. Sheesh.
Anyway, sounds like a fascinating programme about relationships and commitment (God I sound like a women's magazine). Completeley off-topic; last night apropos of S's date-hell story, I said to her "single is the new black." Quick as anything, she replied; "yeah, but it's still a miserable colour."
So the Tate Britain have a half-day symposium to go with it on Wednesday September 25th, and the series will be broadcast on BBC2 at 7.30pm on Mondays from September 2nd.
Seems like some kind of three-way joint venture thing. Hope it lives up to the hype.
