Interesting piece in - yes you guessed it - the Guardian about which nations have what nuclear bombs. Sadly, the online version doesn't have the diagram, but I do have a question. I have only the vaguest understanding of marine technology, but the UK ony has submarines (as opposed to to missiles), which only work by forward-positioning. I think that means they have to be in place first, as they take a long time to get there. So we couldn't respond very quickly to any nuclear attack, could we? But then we might all be melted. I wonder if it'll be like When the Wind Blows; remember that Raymond Briggs book?
